Active Ruleset: Beta / V1Serious → Semi-Realistic RPAtlanta-Inspired

The Nawf Roleplay — Rules Guide

Core vibe: serious-to-semi-realistic RP set in an Atlanta-inspired map. Roleplay first. Create stories. Win with creativity, not with gun meta.

Standard
RP & consequences
Escalate clean. Protect scenes. Avoid grief play.
Map
Beta → V1 rules
Small map pacing; hotspots matter; reputation is real.
Enforcement
Fair + consistent
Warnings → bans; exploits/cheats = severe.

0) Golden Rules

If you follow nothing else, follow these. This is the Beta/V1 enforcement baseline.

RP > Gunplay

Talk before you shoot. Aim for story, not stats.

Value of Life (VoL)

Fear death/injury realistically. Don’t act invincible.

No RDM / No VDM

No random killing. No weaponized vehicles.

No Metagaming / Powergaming

Use only what your character learns IC. Don’t force outcomes or abuse mechanics.

Respect Green Zones

No crime/combat in protected areas. Staff can declare temporary greens during events.

No Exploits / Cheats

Bug abuse, dupes, macros, crosshairs, or third-party advantage = bans.

Stay in-character (IC) by default
Beta/V1
Use /ooc and /report for OOC issues. Don’t break scenes. If you need staff, pause and comply.
Beta / V1 live rules

Definitions (what staff actually means)

These are the common rule triggers. If you avoid these, you avoid 90% of enforcement.

RDM (Random Deathmatch)
Zero tolerance
Killing without meaningful initiation, motive, or escalation. “He looked at me wrong” does not count. If you can’t explain the story reason in one sentence, it’s probably RDM.
VDM (Vehicle Deathmatch)
Zero tolerance
Using a vehicle as a weapon (ramming, mowing down, brake-check baiting). Vehicles can be used to escape or block safely, not to farm kills.
Metagaming
Beta/V1
Using OOC knowledge as IC knowledge. Examples: Discord intel, stream chat intel, “I saw it on the map/UI,” or using another character’s memory to act on info your current character never learned.
Powergaming / Forced outcomes
Beta/V1
Narrating results for others or using mechanics to deny RP. You can describe attempts; you cannot declare the other player’s injury, fear, inventory, or compliance without them playing it.
FailRP (unbelievable behavior)
Beta/V1
Acting like death/injury doesn’t matter, ignoring obvious threats, or treating cuffs/searches like a minigame. Value of Life is not optional in V1.
Combat logging / scene dodging
Severe
Leaving to avoid consequences (disconnecting mid-stop, relogging to lose cops, dumping items to avoid seizure). If you crash, report it immediately and rejoin when told.
Scene safety protocol (fast version)
Beta/V1
Initiate clearly → escalate slowly → leave exits → accept outcomes → play aftermath. If a scene is sensitive, do a quick comfort check and fade-to-black if needed. For the full etiquette ladder, see Scene Etiquette.

1) Green Zones (No crime, no hostile RP)

Protected areas. No crime, no threats, no harassment, no force.

Green zones list
Beta/V1
  • DMV / Driving School
  • Job Center
  • Hospitals / EMS bays
  • PD lobby / booking
  • Banks / ATMs
  • City Hall

Staff-run events and tutorial areas are green zones when announced.

2) Character & Story

Original characters. Clean arcs. No exploiting alts.

Character standards
Beta/V1
  • Original characters only. No celebrity/gov officials or lore-breaking copies.
  • One main arc at a time. Alts allowed, but no cross-pollination.
  • No item/money transfers between alts. No using one character to benefit another.
Cop/EMS ↔ Criminal separation
Beta/V1
  • If you hold a service role, do not run an active criminal on the same day/session.
  • Never leak information or “cop-bait” via alts.
NLR (New Life Rule)
Beta/V1
If you fully die/respawn from hospital, you forget the last scene’s details (faces, plates, stash locations). Do not return or re-initiate around the same scene.

3) Crime & Interaction Standards

Initiate clearly. Give time. Keep it believable.

Initiation & escalation
Beta/V1
  • Initiation: Clear verbal or situational RP before force. Give time to comply.
  • Ambushes: Must make sense IC and should lead to RP, not instant wipes.
  • Camping: Don’t camp green zones, hospital exits, or job centers.
Hostages / scamming / kidnapping
Beta/V1
  • Hostages: Must be real players with meaningful RP (no friends “AFK props”). Killing a compliant hostage is low-effort and punishable.
  • Scamming: In-character, believable, reasonable amounts. No new-player targeting. No OOC marketplace scams.
  • Kidnapping/Torture: Story-driven and community-safe tone. Absolutely no ERP or sexualized violence.
Robberies / heists
Beta/V1
Only when required police are on duty (numbers announced by staff/MOTD). Follow negotiation, cooldowns, and limits set by PD command/staff.
Pick a lane (prevents chaos)
Beta/V1
V1 works best when players commit to lanes. If you’re unsure what to do next, use RP Paths and build two supporting scenes before you start pressure.

4) Combat Conduct

Combat is a tool for story, not the destination.

Firearm escalation & VoL
Beta/V1
  • Firearm escalation requires visible threat, clear commands, and a chance to comply.
  • Finishing downed players only when story-justified. Avoid wiping scenes to grief.
  • If you’re out (hospital/jail), do not return to continue the same fight.
No VDM / long-range
Beta/V1
  • Vehicles are not primary weapons (no ramming, brake-check baiting, etc.).
  • Sniping/long-range ambushes must have IC intel/motive and lead to RP, not instant wipes.

5) Driving, Vehicles & Property

Drive believably. Don’t use systems to cheese outcomes.

Driving & city core
Beta/V1
  • Traffic laws generally apply. Drive believably, especially in the city core.
  • Don’t block businesses/EMS/PD bays. Abandoned vehicles may be impounded.
Temp rentals (arrival)
Beta/V1
  • Short-term use only. No chopping, no storing, no reselling.
  • They auto-repo.
House/Business raids
Beta/V1
Only through valid IC investigations/warrants and per PD SOPs. Criminals must not abuse furniture/glitches to hide.

6) Economy, Jobs & Items

It’s okay to grind—make it roleplay.

Starter path (new arrivals)
Beta/V1
Recommended order
DMV → bank card → Job Center → first job

Do not rob tutorial/new players. Build scenes, don’t farm people.

Items, stacking, props
Beta/V1
  • Don’t abuse weight/stacking quirks. No “mule” alts.
  • Pets & props are flavor only. Don’t weaponize placement to trap/block LOS.
Grinding vs RP
Beta/V1
Grinding is allowed, but create RP while doing it: deliveries, shopkeeping, repairs, services, negotiations, and public interactions.

7) Police & EMS (High-Trust Roles)

Professional conduct. You’re the standard.

Police standards
Beta/V1
  • Win with procedure, not power.
  • Use of force follows SOPs (verbal → less-lethal → lethal).
  • Corruption RP only with command approval and clear boundaries.
EMS standards
Beta/V1
  • EMS priority is life. Stabilize and produce RP even in hectic scenes.
  • Don’t withhold care for OOC reasons.
  • Body-cam style RP encouraged for high-stakes scenes.

8) Comms, Streaming & Media

Keep comms IC. Don’t use outside tools to win.

Voice & third-party comms
Beta/V1
  • In-game voice for IC. No Discord/third-party comms to metagame.
  • Radios/phones must exist IC to be used IC.
Streaming / recording
Beta/V1
  • Allowed. Blur private info/IDs.
  • Stream-sniping or using streams to locate/anticipate is a ban.
  • Use clips for reports; do not witch-hunt publicly.

9) Community Conduct

Zero tolerance for harassment and hate. Keep OOC clean.

Conduct baseline
Beta/V1
  • No hate speech, slurs, doxxing, or harassment. Zero tolerance.
  • Keep OOC clean. Use /ooc sparingly. Use /report for real issues.
  • Staff word is final in-session. Appeals happen after.

10) Bugs, Exploits & Tech

If it’s broken, report it. Don’t replicate it.

Exploit policy
Beta/V1
  • Report bugs/exploits immediately via /report or ticket.
  • Do not replicate or teach others.
  • No third-party cheats/macros/crosshairs. Hardware/software advantage = ban.
  • If something fails to trigger, /report—don’t force glitches to “make RP happen.”

11) Punishments (examples, not exhaustive)

Staff enforces contextually, but outcomes follow a consistent ladder.

Minor
Beta/V1
Verbal → Warning → Kick
Moderate
Beta/V1
12–72h ban (RDM/VDM, metagame, scene hopping)
Severe
Beta/V1
7–30d ban or permaban (exploits, hacking, hate speech, egregious FailRP)
Alt bans apply
Beta/V1
If you evade or cross-abuse across characters/accounts, enforcement can apply across all access.

12) How to Get Help

Short context + a clean clip = fast resolution.

In-game
Beta/V1
  • Use /report with short context (who/where/what).
  • Save clips (2–5 min before/after).
  • If staff pauses your scene, comply. You’ll resume or reset as instructed.
Discord
Beta/V1
Use Discord tickets for follow-ups and appeals. Keep it factual; avoid public callouts.
What staff needs (to resolve fast)
Beta/V1
Include: who/where/when + what rule trigger + what outcome you’re requesting. Provide one clean clip (2–5 minutes before/after). Keep it factual. Do not retaliate or “court” public opinion.
New arrivals
Notes for new arrivals
Beta/V1
Spawn Downtown → claim Starter Pack → grab Temp Rental → DMV for license → Bank for account & card → Job Center to work → Clothing to finish your look.

When in doubt: choose RP that moves the story forward.

V2 preview (organized placeholders)

Agreement + versioning
Beta/V1
By playing, you agree to these rules. This is v1.0 (Beta/V1). Rules may evolve as systems roll out. Watch city announcements/Discord for live changes.
